Aluminium window price calculator: check any quotation line by line

Enter the sizes and rate from your own quotation and the calculator shows billed area, extras, GST and the all-in rate per sq ft. It does the arithmetic only and never assumes a rate.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Area times rate, plus the lines the rate leaves out, plus GST

To check a quote with an aluminium window price calculator, multiply width by height in feet for each opening, add the openings together and multiply by the rate per sq ft on your quotation. Then add the lines the rate leaves out, such as glass upgrades, hardware, fitting and civil work, plus GST, 18% at the time of writing.
The calculator below works on your numbers, not ours. It holds no rate, because a rate without a specification means little. Gruns Fenster prices only after measuring each opening, and an AluK Home system window is a specification of profile, glass and hardware, not a commodity with a going rate. Use the tool to check any quotation, ours included. Doors use the same arithmetic, as our aluminium door price guide and sliding door cost guide show.

Check a quotation line by line

Enter one window size at a time from your quotation. Nothing you type is sent anywhere, and no rate is filled in for you.

Check a quotation line by line

Enter the size and the rate from your own quotation. Nothing is sent anywhere and no rate is assumed. The tool only does the arithmetic.

Use the all-in figure to compare two quotations on the same footing. A lower rate with more lines left out is not cheaper.

How to use the calculator

Enter the size

Type the width and height exactly as your quotation states them and pick the unit: feet, inches, millimetres or metres. The tool converts to square feet, so sizes in mm from a drawing work as they are.

Set the quantity

Enter how many windows of that size the quotation covers. For a house with several sizes, run each size separately and add the totals together at the end.

Enter the quoted rate

Use the rate per sq ft printed on your quotation. If it gives only a lump sum per window, divide that sum by the window area to find the rate it implies.

Add minimum area and extras

If the quotation states a minimum billed area per window, enter it. Add lines outside the rate in rupees: mesh, grilles, transport, fitting, hardware upgrades or removal of old frames.

Read the all-in rate

Enter the GST rate shown on the quote, or 0 if the rate already includes it. The last line divides the total by the actual window area, the fair figure for comparing quotations.

HOW QUOTE LINES ARE BUILT

How an aluminium window quotation is put together

One published calculator guide sets out the estimate as opening area times the material rate, plus glazing upgrade, hardware, installation, civil work and waterproofing, with 18% GST on the subtotal (Studiomatrx, June 2026). That is one vendor guide’s method, not an industry standard, but it matches the lines most quotations show.
Some fabricators build the rate from cost instead. A rate analysis for a two-track sliding window uses kilograms of aluminium section, square feet of glass, carpenter and helper time, a lump sum for rollers, locks and gaskets, and 15% for overheads and profit (InfraLens). Published guides list window section at about Rs 358 per kg in Bengaluru, within Rs 311 to 404 (InfraLens, Aug 2026). Section weight depends on series and wall thickness, so the specification decides what that becomes per sq ft.

Area rules: opening, frame or glass, and the minimum billed area

Published guides use the structural opening, width times height of the wall opening, not the glass alone, and quote per sq ft of the whole opening rather than per sash. Ask which size your quotation uses, because opening, frame and glass give three different areas for one window. Millimetres convert at 304.8 mm to the foot; square metres at 10.764 sq ft to the sq m.
Minimum billed area is the line that most often surprises people. We found no published Indian norm and no source that states a typical figure, yet some quotations bill small windows as if they were larger. Ask whether a minimum applies, to which openings, and get it in writing. The calculator applies any minimum you enter and shows actual and billed area side by side. Our guide to measuring windows explains how sizes are taken, and the window price by size guide shows how area changes from 3 x 3 to 5 x 5 ft.

GST

GST on aluminium windows

GST on aluminium doors and windows, HSN 7610, is 18% at the time of writing: 9% CGST plus 9% SGST within a State, or 18% IGST across States, according to a tax advisory published in October 2026 (Taxgarden), citing a change effective 22 September 2025. Supply and fixing on a building is usually treated as a works contract at the same 18%. Some older HSN directories still show 28%, so check the rate on your invoice.
Price guides usually quote rates before GST and add it to the subtotal as its own line. If your quotation is silent, ask. Treatment for suppliers under the composition scheme may differ, and only your supplier’s invoice settles it.

Two quotations for six 4 x 4 ft windows

Example numbers, not a price. The rates and extras below are round figures chosen to show the arithmetic. They are not market rates and not Gruns Fenster prices.
Six windows of 4 x 4 ft are 96 sq ft. Quotation A states Rs 1,000 per sq ft, which is Rs 96,000, plus Rs 6,000 of extras, a subtotal of Rs 1,02,000. GST at 18% adds Rs 18,360, for Rs 1,20,360 in all, or Rs 1,254 per sq ft all in.
Quotation B states Rs 900 per sq ft, which is Rs 86,400, but lists hardware upgrades, mesh and fitting separately at Rs 21,000. The subtotal is Rs 1,07,400, GST adds Rs 19,332, and the total is Rs 1,26,732, or Rs 1,320 per sq ft all in. The lower headline rate is the dearer quotation.
Now add a 2 x 1.5 ft ventilator, 3 sq ft, to a quotation with an example minimum of 6 sq ft per window. It is billed at twice its real area, so its effective rate doubles before any extras. The calculator shows this as the gap between actual and billed area.

Common ways a quotation hides cost

A low rate with a long list of extras

Track, rollers, locks, mesh and fitting can sit outside the rate. One published guide notes the rate usually bundles frame, glass and basic assembly, but not always. Add every extra to the rate before comparing two quotations, as the worked example above shows.

GST left unstated

A rate that silently excludes 18% GST looks lower than one that includes it. Ask for GST included or GST extra at 18% to be written on the quotation itself, and enter the matching figure in the calculator so both quotes sit on the same footing.

Area taken on the wrong size

Billing on the frame, or on rounded-up sizes, raises the area without changing the window. Ask which size is used and whether sizes are rounded up to the next inch or foot, then compare the billed area with the measured opening.

Specification left vague

A line reading aluminium sliding window, toughened glass fixes neither the series, the glass thickness nor the hardware. A vague line can be met with a cheaper product on delivery, so ask for all three in writing. Our window glass options guide lists what to specify for glass.

FAQ

Calculating aluminium window prices: common questions

Short answers you can use with any quotation.
Multiply width by height in feet for each window, add the windows together and multiply by the rate per sq ft on your quotation. Add any lines the rate excludes, such as hardware, mesh, fitting and civil work, then add GST. Divide the total by the real window area to get an all-in rate you can compare across quotations.
Some fabricators cost a window from the weight of section it uses, the glass area, labour and a hardware allowance, then add overheads and profit. Published guides list window section at about Rs 358 per kg in Bengaluru (InfraLens, Aug 2026). Section weight depends on series and wall thickness, so specification decides the number, and most quotations still show a rate per sq ft.
Multiply square metres by 10.764 to get square feet; 1 sq m is 10.763911 sq ft. To go the other way, multiply square feet by 0.0929. For sizes in millimetres, divide each side by 304.8 to get feet before multiplying width by height. The calculator converts for you when you pick the unit.
Often not. Price guides commonly quote rates before GST and add 18% to the subtotal at the end, though some suppliers quote inclusive rates. Ask for the quotation to say which, in writing, and enter 0 in the GST field if the rate already includes it, so you do not count the tax twice.
Usually the frame, the glass and basic assembly, though not always. Track, premium rollers, locks, mesh, grilles, fitting, civil work, transport and removal of old windows are often separate lines. One published guide says residential quotes typically cover fabrication, supply and installation together. Ask for each item to be marked as included or extra.
We found no published Indian norm, and no source states a typical figure. Some quotations still bill small windows at a minimum area, which raises the effective rate on ventilators and small openings. Ask whether a minimum applies, to which windows, and get it in writing. Enter it in the calculator to see its effect.
Because any rate we printed would be read as a price, and a rate means little without the specification behind it. Published ranges, with sources, are in our aluminium window price per sq ft guide, and material choices in aluminium vs uPVC windows. For your windows, we measure first and price the specification line by line.
