Aluminium door price: sliding, French, folding, bathroom and balcony doors

Doors carry more glass and heavier hardware than windows, and they add a threshold. This guide sets out the published figures for each door type, what drives them, and what a door quotation must list before you compare.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Door type, glass and track decide the price more than the word aluminium

The aluminium door price runs from roughly Rs 600 to 900 per sq ft of opening for standard powder-coated system doors to Rs 1,100 to 1,800 or more for thermally broken, double-glazed doors, according to published guides (Studiomatrx, June 2026), before hardware, fitting and 18% GST. These are vendor figures.
Door type, glass, track and hardware decide where a door lands. A door is a heavier job than a window of the same area. Panels are taller, glass at low level should be toughened or laminated safety glass, and the track or threshold takes foot traffic every day. What drives the price of an aluminium door

The lines in a door quotation match a window’s, but hardware weighs more. Published guides list a lock and handle at Rs 500 to 3,500, standard rollers at Rs 300 to 900 a pair, sealed-bearing rollers at Rs 900 to 3,000 a pair and soft-close at Rs 1,500 to 6,000 per door (Studiomatrx, June 2026). What a door needs depends on panel weight, which the specification decides.

SLIDING AND BALCONY DOORS

Sliding and balcony doors

Sliding doors are the most quoted aluminium door and show the widest spread. Published guides list them at Rs 700 to 1,400 per sq ft (McCoyMart, April 2025), and one guide’s worked example puts a 7 x 5 ft balcony slider, 35 sq ft in a standard powder-coated system, at Rs 16,000 to 32,000 before installation (Studiomatrx, June 2026). Panel count, glass and track decide where a door sits.
Arithmetic shows how size moves this. A balcony opening 7 ft wide and 6 ft high is 42 sq ft. At the published standard system range of Rs 600 to 900 per sq ft, the frame line alone is Rs 25,200 to 37,800, before glass upgrades, hardware, fitting and GST. French and casement doors

We found no reliable published price for aluminium French doors, so we do not quote one. One online calculator offers a twin openable French option but publishes no rate for it, and the French door listings we found on a directory were steel. For a single hinged or casement door, published guides list Rs 600 to 900 per sq ft (McCoyMart, April 2025); specification decides where a door falls.
Hinged doors are priced by hardware and sealing as much as by area. Check the hinge rating for the leaf weight, the number of locking points, the threshold seal and which way the door opens against wind and rain. AluK recommends multi-point locks. Folding doors

Published guides list slide and fold doors at Rs 400 to 900 per sq ft (McCoyMart, April 2025), while most IndiaMART listings retrieved in October 2026 ask about Rs 750 to Rs 1,800 per sq ft. The difference is hardware: a folding door has a hinge line between panels, a carriage on each, and a track carrying the whole stack. Panel count and size decide the number more than area does.

BATHROOM DOORS

Bathroom doors: one name, different products

The name aluminium bathroom door covers very different products. Many are aluminium-framed shutters with ACP sheet or a hollow panel; others are framed glazed doors. One IndiaMART seller in Lucknow asks Rs 399 per sq ft for a 1980 x 660 mm internal door, 25 mm thick (Oct 2026). That door is about 14.1 sq ft, so roughly Rs 5,600 at the asking rate. It is one seller’s price, not a market average, and construction decides the number.
Aluminium does not rust or rot, which suits wet rooms, but a cheap or damaged coating can pit, especially in salty coastal air. Check the shutter build, the coating, the hinges and the gap at the floor. PVC and WPC doors are alternatives, and listings do not show aluminium as the cheaper option per piece.

What every aluminium door quotation must list

Two door quotations are comparable only when both list the same items. Ask for each in writing, marked as included or extra. Our quotation calculator works for doors too: enter the opening size, the quoted rate and every extra.
  • Track: number of tracks, and whether a mesh track is included
  • Rollers: type, load rating and number per panel
  • Locks and handles: brand and number of locking points
  • Glass: build-up written out, such as 6+12+6, toughened or laminated
  • Threshold: standard or flush, drainage detail, floor work needed
  • Finish: powder coat, anodised or wood finish, and colour
  • Installation: fitting, sealing, transport, civil work, removal of the old door, and GST at 18%

Three checks before you accept a door price

Ask for the panel weight

Glass area times thickness gives panel weight, and weight sets the roller and hinge class. A quote that upgrades the glass without changing the hardware has a gap. Settle the glass first, then check that the hardware is rated for its weight.

Measure the opening, not the door

Doors are quoted on the full opening, width times height, not the leaf. Floor finishes, sills and lintel depth change that size on site, which is why a firm figure follows measurement. Our measurement guide explains what is taken.

Compare like with like
